How to save earth by small steps

Saving earth is a great responsibility.
I would suggest every one to contribute and save our planet earth.

Start the process from your home>>
All talk and no action won't change the situation, so I decided to take a step first and then talk about it... after all charity begins at home!
* I have tried to reduce the number of lights I use and replace most of them with CFLs.
* While it is not necessary, I do not let the tap water run.
* In my mother’s office, usually papers wasted because of only 2-3 errors in the document. They have to reprint the document after correcting errors. Moreover only one side of paper can be used. Each document has a set of 11-50 pages and they require 4-5 copies of the set. (Wasting of 50X5=250 papers only for one document). So the Employees are decided to use the other side of paper for Rough Works. They inspired me and from then I use both sides of paper and when only half paper is used, I use the empty part for my Rough Work.

YOUTH CAN CHANGE THE NATION<>

1. Plant Trees>>
Don’t cut the trees. If it is necessary, then plant another one at that place.
One tree absorbs one ton CO2 during its lifetime.
The estimated population of India as on March 2008 was 1.13 billion. If each person plants one tree in a life time, WE CAN ELIMINATE 1.13 BILLION TONS OF CO2 FROM THE ATMOSPHERE.

Understand the only survival for global warming is to do plantation.
Grow more live more!!

2. Save Water>>
*On an average each person who runs the tap while brushing, wastes about 7 liters of water. If 1.13 Billion Indians (estimated population as on March 2008) simply change the way, they brush their teeth, WE COULD SAVE 1.13 BILLIONS X 7 LITERS= 7.91 BILLION LITERS OF WATER IN JUST A DAY.
*Many times water motors are left switched on for hours without realizing that the overhead tanks are overflowing. Switch on motors for a specific period of time.

3. Use only CLOTH/PAPER BAGS>>
At present one of the main reason that pollute our earth is the plastics bags that we r using today a lot. These bags are very harmful for earth as these are not biodegradable substance. So use these plastic bags as low as possible and try to use cloth/paper bags.
If you can keep your home neat and clean, please try to keep your surroundings free from plastics and other non degradable waste products.
Always try to through polythene and plastic in a dustbin wherever you go. If you don’t find garbage at that movement put it in a pocket or bag, and when you see dustbin then through it there.

Think Globally, Act Locally>>
Also make sure we all do something about creating awareness at local level. For this you can...
* poke your friends who waste water or electricity.
* You can plant a small sapling at your home, indoor or outdoor.
*Carry your own water bottles from home rather than buying water packets or bottles daily.
* use Orkut or Facebook to send messages to all your friends about need of water conservation…
send them various links showing facts about dwindling (decreasing) natural resources.
Try to make this in your habit and pass this to other.

*Find a good NGO on Jaagore.com that is doing some interesting work in this field and I think they will find a fit with your services as a public relations person.

If we are really passionate about saving our country or world from these crises then we need to take up issues head on.
We need to do much more for our feature generation.
